How to make Apple Pie Quesadillas?
First combine sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl, then set it aside. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat, then put 1/2 tablespoon of butter to melt. Spread 1/2 tablespoon of caramel sauce over ½ of the tortilla, then put 2-3 tablespoons of apple pie filling over the sauce. Fold tortilla in half and place it in the pan with melted butter.
Cook until the tortilla is golden brown, then carefully turn the other side and again, cook until it’s golden brown. Brush the tortilla on all sides with butter from the pan and then put it in a bowl with cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle sugar until it’s coated.
Repeat the same procedure with the remaining tortillas, then cut them in half and drizzle with caramel sauce. Serve warm with vanilla or caramel ice cream or whipped topping.
And that’s it – very quickly and incredibly easy to make a delicious dessert or even breakfast or snack.
Tips and tricks:
Chop the apple pie filling before filling the tortillas.
Brush the tortilla with butter from the pan. It will help sugar and cinnamon stick to a tortilla more easily.
To prevent apple pie and caramel sauce from leaking out of the quesadilla while cooking, leave a 1/2 inch gap along the tortilla edges. If the sauce leaks anyway, you can just put it back in the quesadilla.
How to store leftovers? It’s best to serve Apple Pie Quesadillas warm, immediately after cooking. However, if you still have some leftovers, keep them in the fridge, in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Keep in mind that quesadillas will become soggy.
Can Apple Pie Quesadillas be frozen? I don’t recommend freezing.
