How to make a Berry Dream Dessert?
To make the crust – combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar and melted butter, then toss together until incorporated. Press the crumb mixture into an 8×8 inch or 9×9 inch pan that has been sprayed with non-stick spray and leave in the fridge for 10 minutes, to cool.
To make the filling – beat heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese and butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar and mix at a low speed until smooth. Finally add whipped cream, vanilla, fresh lemon juice and mix until combined. Next, spread 1/3 filling over the graham cracker crust, then place 1/2 of fresh blueberries and strawberries. Repeat the same procedure and finish with the layer of cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle some graham cracker crumbs, wrap and cool in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
How to store the leftovers?
In the fridge, wrapped or in an airtight container, for no longer then 3 days. I don’t recommend freezing this dessert.
Tips and tricks:
Use room temperature cream cheese and butter – it will be easier to beat them. They should be taken out of the fridge for at least an hour before using.
Heavy whipping cream should be as cold as possible in order to get stiff peaks.
Add more lemon juice for extra citrus flavor.
You can also add raspberries, blackberries or make a berry mix.
Pro tip – if you want to to cut this dessert so that the pieces have proper shape, leave it in the fridge overnight. It will be more solid and easier to cut.
Can whipped topping be used instead of heavy whipping cream?
Yes, it can. One 8 ounces container will be enough.
