What ingredients are necessary to make Chocolate Date Energy Balls?

  • Medjool dates
  • Raw cashews
  • Raw cacao powder
  • Coconut oil
  • Sea salt

How to make Chocolate Date Energy Balls?

Start by removing pits from your dates. Put dates and cashews in a food processor with S-Blade and pulse until the mixture is homogeneous. Add cocoa, coconut oil and salt and pulse until it starts to thicken. Scoop a spoonful of mixture and place on the baking sheet, lined with parchment paper, then roll them between hands to make a ball shape. Leave the balls in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to become solid.

Tips and tricks:

Make sure to remove the pits from the dates. Use room temperature dates, it will be easier to grind them.

PRO-TIP: Make sure not to process the ingredients for too long, the heat will melt the oil and the mixture will be too fatty. The fat will separate from the other ingredients and the mixture will become very thick and sticky. In that case you won’t be able to form balls. 

You can store them in an airtight container, refrigerated for no longer than 10 days, or in the freezer up to 3 months. 

Can other nuts be used?  Yes, you can use walnuts, pecans, almonds, or a combine your favorite ones

Is it necessary to use raw cocoa powder? No, a regular cocoa powder can be used, too.

Ingredients

  • 6 large medjool dates
  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 2 tablespoon raw cacao powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon Sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  2. Next, remove pits from your dates and  put them along with cashews in a food processor with S-Blade and pulse until the mixture is homogeneous.
